Time Doesn’t Mean Much in Tokyo

Appearing in the Comics issue of Illustoria Magazine, this little story is the first I have worked on that isn't written by myself. Ignacio Abad came up with the crazy storyline and I made the drawings for it.

Time Doesn’t Mean Much in Tokyo

So lucky

Grateful to have had incredible fortune in life, always getting to know the right people has definitely been my outright honor. I am not talking about knowing billionaires or people with power, those are often very uninteresting and mostly ding dongs without scruples. Nah. I have been the luckiest of guys getting to know talented people in many countries, folks with very different view of life, people often from humble backgrounds that are much better than others at something. True geniuses. But also simply good humans: street cleaners with the best life philosophy, housewives & -husbands with incredible skills, shop clerks with encyclopedic knowledge, artists with inspiring, generous spirits. For meeting those I am truly grateful to the gods.

One of this is amazing humans is Ignacio Abad

Ignacio (Nacho for the friends) Abad is a writer. A brilliant man, shy as hell and god knows he has a convoluted visual taste, but his mind can spew stories and weave timelines like no other. He comes up with characters like very few can. Throw a coin at him and the story machine won’t stop producing.
Fellow Spaniard, also a Tokyo citizen, also married to a Japanese woman… those wouldn’t be a guarantee me making the effort to meet someone. But we share some friends back in Spain and they all pointed me to a meet Ignacio ASAP, an advice I happily followed.

Ignacio had asked me many times to do something together and I am not so used at working with other writers than myself in my comics, I thought 1 page would be a safe way to start. I wasn't prepared to deal with his immense imagination and endless flexibility.
