The iPad is the sketchbook
I have been drawing all my life. For many years with ink and paper. I also started using Wacom tablets in 1995. I can fairly state I am confident and comfortable on both mediums. But after much back and forth, I notice I prefer the iPad as my main sketchbook tool.
Drawing or mark making on paper has something unmistakably magic. Those used to it think that pixels will never be able to replicate that magic. I argue that it’s not about replicating or choosing one over the other. It’s just about thinking of the screen as merely another tool. What is better tool, a piece of expensive Canson paper or a post-it?
